I turned to the woman and asked, “What is your name?” She said, “Debra.” I asked, “Why did you make him change the car and not communicate any of this with me?” She approached me and said, “We requested a car from another location to accommodate you.” Debra had a confrontational stance in front of me. At this point, I was visibly angry and Debra made no attempt to diffuse the situation. I left before the situation escalated any further.
I immediately called a cab and left.... I never went back to HERTZ and never will
The manager and the woman came back into the store and, without a word to me, walked behind the counter. The manager did some computer work and a few minutes later said, “Your car is ready. We changed it to another vehicle.” I said, “We already signed the paperwork on that car!” At this point, I was getting angry that my car was being changed and that I was being bait and switched somehow.
Towny rental car pick up. Good enough but not a major airport hub.
A few minutes later, a woman walked in and went behind the counter to look at some paperwork. I heard her mumble, “He is not getting an A for a B.” Then she walked hastily out the front door to the manager who was cleaning the car I was going to rent. I could hear her scolding the manager about A and B pricing and said, “Change it.” The manager stopped vacuuming the car, and they both looked at another car that was arriving.
I went to this Wareham HERTZ about 2 months ago, I filled out all the paperwork for one particular car and at the last minute was told by the branch manager "Debra" that someone else had reserved the very car she just rented me.
"I honestly believe this was due to the fact I did not want the extra "expensive unnecessary insurance" as my personal car insurance covers any car I drive.
September 29, 2016: I arrived 30 minutes before my reservation time. Only one worker was on duty, and he happened to be the manager. The manager explained that he needed to vacuum a car before I took it. I had no issues with that and was happy to be accommodated. We did the walk around, signed the paperwork, and I took a seat.
I honestly believe and she wanted to have a jab at me of sorts as I only wanted the basic insurance. Debra was very confrontational & arrogant I was upset at this point so I informed Debra I would be back after I thought about it ...
I've since read that is a major part of how the company makes their money, it is off the insurance they offer, thats fine but I simply did not need it.
Excellent service! Booked the night before but car wasn't there the next day when I arrived. No problem though, the representative made everything right with a free upgrade and put through my discount I couldn't get to work online the night prior. Very painless and everything went well with my rental and I was able to enjoy my time with my mom while my car was in the shop. Thank you Hertz!

I am very unsatisfied with my rental experience at this location. The way I was treated and the turn of events was unacceptable. I am hoping for some kind of resolution to make all of this right, so that I can continue to rent from this location as well as Hertz in the future.
