When looking for a new office ask how long their hygiene cleanings are. If they say anything less than 45 minutes run away/hang up the phone because they will take advantage of you.
It is DISCRIMINATION to only give MassHealth patients substandard care under rushed conditions! BEWARE if the dentist tells you that your teenager needs a deep cleaning chances are they don’t at such a young age. I saw a 19 year old who informed me that this was his second deep cleaning! Upon examination I found that he had no signs of gingival inflammation, zero calculus buildup, no radiographic bone loss and the previous probe readings showed 4mm pockets where there were none. Why would they recommend an unnecessary procedure? Because MassHealth fully reimburses dental offices for deep cleanings on patients under 21. This office defrauds and manipulates patients who don’t possess professional dental knowledge.
Everyone is always so kind, and im able to get appojntments right away. Love this place.
Worst dentist ever. Never fixed my problem. This went on for 3 years. Don’t trust them at all. I went to a new dentist in Mashpee and they fixed my problem right away. The other problem these guys caused is they turned a simple cavity into a root canal and destroyed my tooth. Beyond repair. Please don’t trust these guys. What a horrific experience!!!
Good experience and a nice staff. I felt very welcomed. :)
The dentist was clearly looking to schedule a 16 year old for another unnecessary deep cleaning when he asked me to do complete perio charting on this kid with only a few localized 4 mm pockets and no subgingival calculus. But he didn’t ask for full perio charting on an adult woman with profuse bleeding, heavy Supra/sub calculus and generalized diffuse edematous (swollen) tissue. Why not? Because that patient despite showing an obvious need for such treatment would be a harder sell due to the fact that her expense as a patient over 21 would be 100% out of pocket for upwards of $700-1000. The perio office I worked at charged $1000 or $250 per quadrant.
If you are a hygienist looking for work SAY NO! Don’t be so desperate for money that you compromise your patients oral health. I erroneously believed that having an assistant do cleanup, setup and X-rays would make the short appointment length ok. It is not ok don’t let the office manager trick you into thinking so. Unprofessional and downright rude!
From when I walked in I was greeted with a big smile from the receptionist, to the wonderful young girl that cleaned my teeth, to the Dr. that explained what I needed done better than any other place I've been, to the office manager who worked hard and offered me a good payment plan. I am done with my treatment now, and would like to express my gratitude for my new smile. Thank you Prime Dental.
My best advice is to leave this office and never look back. Not only do they provide substandard care but they ask their hygienists to risk their licenses and their physical well-being bent over like slaves destroying their hands to rush through cleanings.
The standard of care for deep cleanings according to the American Dental Association is 1.5 hours however I was given 30 minutes to administer local anesthetic and perform what is supposed to be a thorough deep cleaning. These patients with non-private insurance often have no choice but to be taken advantage of by these prophy mills because unfortunately many private practices do not accept patients due to low reimbursement from MassHealth. This office double books patients and expects their hygienists to compromise their ethical standards to pump out patient cleanings in 10-20 minutes, even less if both patients show up for the same 30 minute appointment time.
I worked here for one day as a temp dental hygienist. I have 7 years of experience (4 years in a periodontics specialty practice). I have seen the operations of both good offices and poorly managed ones. DO NOT GO TO THIS UNETHICAL OFFICE! This place is what dental professionals call a prophy mill that jams as many MassHealth patients into a day as possible to make as much money as possible without caring about individual patient needs.
